Education - Children
Helping children come close to God to discover who God is, who we are, and what it means to be a part of God’s Story and community of Faith.
Welcome to Story Quest!
Are you ready for an adventure of a lifetime? Children, guides (teachers and assistants), and parents are invited on a journey through God’s Story - exploring what God has to say to us, each in a way that God made us!
Summer 2017: June 18-August 27
10:00am: “One Room Story Quest” begins! Children currently in Preschool (almost 4) to Grade 5 are invited to a special Sunday School for the summer where we will be exploring stories of the People of God. Go to worship first. Children younger than 4 will be in our Nursery.
We will resume our regular schedule (see below) in September 2017.

Infants & Toddlers
Sundays, 8:30-11:30am, Rooms 102
You can feel comfortable knowing that your infants and toddlers are in a safe and loving environment. Our excellent caregivers play with and care for your children. We have one caregiver who is there every week, plus volunteers from our congregation. The Nursery is located on the first floor.
Preschool & Kindergarten
Sundays, 10:00am, Rooms 105. Go to Worship first - we will be dismissed to class after the Time With Children.
We will become friends with all sorts of people and go with them on their adventures with God. We will experience God’s presence whether we are kings or paupers, old people or children, farmers or city folks. We will see that God thinks we are important not because we are tagging along beside someone famous enough to be in the Bible, but because we are ourselves. We are important. We are loved. God is with us! Everyone new to our class will receive The Beginner's Bible – our basis for our weekly lessons.
1st - 3rd Grade
Sundays, 10:00am, Rooms 203. Go to Worship first - we will be dismissed to class after the Time With Children.
Story Quest continues this winter/spring as we follow Jesus in Galilee and into Jerusalem, ending with his death & resurrection. Who is this Jesus? Why do crowds continue to follow him? What does he say to us? What are we to do with Jesus?
As part of our “language of faith,” during the year we will be getting to know our Bibles by reading the stories, practicing prayer, and learning more about and living out the church year (which begins with Advent).
4th - 5th Grade
Sundays, 10:00am, Rooms 210. Go to Worship first - we will be dismissed to class after the Time With Children.
As part of our “language of faith,” we are exploring the Lord’s Prayer, Communion and Baptism. We’ll come into the worship service on the first Sunday of each month to join the congregation in the Communion Service.
Did you know that during The Great Thanksgiving portion of the Communion Service, Pastor Kathryn reminds us of some of God’s mighty acts – some of the same stories we are exploring in Story Quest? We will continue our quest this winter/spring through the second part of The Great Thanksgiving (after the “Holy, holy, holy…”), remembering the coming of God through Jesus, following Jesus on his journey with his disciples (and us!), the institution of the Last Supper, and Jesus’death and resurrection.
