Education - Children

Helping children come close to God to discover who God is, who we are, and what it means to be a part of God’s Story and community of Faith.

Welcome to Story Quest!

Are you ready for an adventure of a lifetime? Children, guides (teachers and assistants), and parents are invited on a journey through God’s Story - exploring what God has to say to us, each in a way that God made us!

4th - 5th Grade

Sundays, 10:00am, Rooms 210. Go to Worship first - we will be dismissed to class after the Time With Children.

As we explore the stories from the Bible and our Christian history, we will see what we can discover about God, ourselves, and the people of the Bible. This year we will spend some time exploring the Sacrament of Holy Communion and participate in Communion on a monthly basis.

  • Fall 2017: We will spend three months focused on the Sacrament of Holy Communion, exploring the stories from the Bible where meals are shared. We will learn about hospitality, God’s provision, and meals of remembrance. Beyond the Bible we will explore Christian history and practices around Communion.
  • December 2017: The Christmas Story as told in the Gospels of Luke and Matthew
  • Winter 2017: We will explore a variety of stories from the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John (some we have heard before and some we haven’t) of Jesus calling, healing, teaching, and showing us the way of God. We end this near Easter with Jesus’ death and resurrection. What does it mean to live as a disciple of Christ?
  • Spring 2018: We begin with Jesus’ final appearances to his disciples from Easter morning through Ascension. We will then follow along as the disciples become apostles with the coming of the Holy Spirit and the early days of this new community in the Acts of the Apostles.
