“The Hundred Foot Journey”

May 1, 2020, 6:30-9:30pm, Room 205/206

We continue with two themes we have stumbled upon this past season - many of the movies begin with “The” and many of them involve relationships, random encounters, and the way God works through relationships to transform us (even if the film doesn’t explicitly say this.)

Starring Academy Award winner Helen Mirren, produced by Steven Spielberg, Oprah Winfrey and Juliet Blake, and directed by Lasse Hallström (Chocolat), this uplifting story bursts with flavor, passion, and heart. When the chilly chef proprietress of a Michelin-starred French restaurant in southern France (Mirren) gets wind of a culinary immigrant (Om Puri) opening an Indian restaurant just 100 feet from her own, her icy protests escalate to all-out war between the two establishments. It’s a celebration of triumph over exile as these two worlds collide and one young man tries to find the comfort of home in every pot - wherever he may be.
