Faith Preschool - What We Do in Class
Our program includes:
- readiness activities such as cutting, listening, organizing, and following directions
- music, art, dramatic play, stories, movies, and learning activities based on relevant units such as self, family, holidays (including Fall, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, etc.), animals, community helpers, circus, etc.
The Two-Year Old Class meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9:00-11:30am, and class size is limited to 10-12 children.
Children at this age go through many stages of development. Through the lesson plans and class structure, Faith Preschool provides a safe classroom environment that promotes exploration, imagination, self-independence, playtime and social skills.
The Three-Year Old Class meets on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, 9:00am-12:00pm, and class size is limited to 12-14 children. Children must be toilet-trained.
Thematic units are designed that are interesting, challenging, educational, and fun. Alphabet recognition, rhyming, and beginning sounds are taught. Arts and crafts lessons continue to be intertwined throughout the day so children can continue to develop their fine motor skills. Personal and social development is also a focus.
The Four-Year Old Class meets Monday through Friday, 9:00am-1:00pm, and class size is limited to 16 children. Children must be toilet-trained. Each day the children eat a lunch brought from home.
Children are provided a strong foundation to help prepare them for Kindergarten. The common core standards are used as a tool to complete our lesson planning so that the children receive a well-rounded education. There is a strong focus on academics as well as a time for socialization and play. Math and science units are also included to teach the children about the world around them.
