Rev. Dr. Kathryn Woodrow, Senior Pastor
Kathryn has been the Senior Pastor of Faith United Methodist Church in Rockville, MD, since July 2007. A graduate of the University of Kansas (B.A., History of Art) and Wesley Theological Seminary (M.Div., D.Min.) she began her ministry journey in the Baltimore-Washington Conference (BWC) in 1987 as a student associate pastor at Capital Hill UMC. Before being appointed to Faith UMC, Kathryn served Colesville UMC in Silver Spring, Mt. Washington UMC in Baltimore, and Calvary UMC in Frederick.
Kathryn is passionate about preaching and worship, helping people to grow as disciples of Jesus Christ, and reaching out to the community and the world through acts of justice, mercy, and service. Over the years she has been active in the BWC in the areas of Religion and Race, as a staff member for the Quality of Life Retreats for people with HIV/AIDS, and on the District Committee on Ministry in the Baltimore North, Frederick, and Greater Washington Districts.
Kathryn is a native of Washington, D.C. who now lives in Gaithersburg, MD, with husband Don (who is enjoying retirement after 30+ years in building code administration), grandson Colin (a high school junior who loves baseball), granddaughter Sidney (a second-grader who loves to write, draw, and swim), Mandy (a sweet Border Collie), and Junior (cat of the house). She loves spending time with her family, traveling near and far, family genealogy, walking, reading, and relaxing on the beach in Maine.
