Kim Webster
Financial Manager
Kim Webster serves as the part-time Finance Manager at Faith UMC in Rockville MD. Kim has over 30 years of business experience with 15 of them leading the finance & administration departments managing multi-million-dollar budgets for corporations and nonprofit organizations. She also runs a small boutique wealth management firm that provides solutions to financial, business, training, and coaching challenges to women owned businesses.
In 2010, she founded Journey to Your Promised Land, Inc (JTYPL) an international nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide economic opportunities, educational information, essential training, supportive resources, and advocate for policy decisions around the issues that impede women and young people across the world from reaching their goals. JTYPL uses volunteers to implement all its outreach activities. She serves on the board of directors of the Washington DC branch of the American Association of University Women (AAUW-DC) where she fights for gender equality, the Mary Church Terrell Foundation (MCT Foundation) where she raise scholarship funds for DC youth, volunteers as a TEDx organizer for the local community, and is an AmeriCorps VISTA alum.
She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Organizational Management from Washington Adventist University (formerly Columbia Union College), a Master of Business Administration in Finance from Trinity Washington University, as well as certifications in training, community organizing, and finance related fields. When she is not working or volunteering, she spends her time practicing yoga, walking, cooking, and swimming. She is a sixth generation Washingtonian and a proud mother of two sons.
